The crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes, involving three cars, a motorbike, and a truck. Live traffic cameras showed three of the four eastbound lanes closed, with gridlock stretching nearly 3km along the A44, back towards Leichhardt. The right-hand westbound lane was also blocked as emergency crews worked at the scene.

An Ambulance NSW spokesperson confirmed that paramedics assessed several people involved in the incident, with injuries reported as minor. However, the male motorbike rider was transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for further treatment. A cement truck was also believed to be part of the collision.

Emergency services worked quickly to clear the vehicles, and by mid-morning, all lanes were reopened, according to the latest Live Traffic NSW update.

The crash sparked heavy commuter delays at the peak of rush hour, with frustrated drivers reporting being stuck for over an hour. Authorities have not released details on the cause of the collision, but investigations are ongoing.
